Implantable Cardioverter-Defibrillator (ICD)
During a minor surgical procedure, this device
is implanted under the skin, usually in the shoulder area, to constantly
monitor your heart rhythm. Through tiny wires (leads), the ICD delivers an
electrical shock to your heart when your heart rate becomes dangerously fast.
This shock converts the fast rhythm to a normal rhythm. Treats These Conditions:
